The West Virginia Woodturners Association provides woodturners in southeastern West Virginia and western Virginia with an opportunity to meet other turners, enhance their skills, and share their skills and interests in woodturning. September 24 Meeting
The next meeting will be on September 24 at The Fort at Montwell Park from 9:30 AM until noon. Come by at 9:00 and enjoy coffee and donuts while you exchange ideas with other Club members. Bring your recent turnings for Show and Tell and also your spindle turnings from the June Challenge (turn three identical 12" long spindles that must include at least 1 cove, 1 bead, 1 shoulder, a taper at least 4" long, and a pommel which is a square cross section). Cliff Baker will demonstrate how to turn a pepper mill and members will be challenged to create a pepper mill and bring it to the November meeting. Pepper mill kits will be available at the subsidized price of $5.
Summer Barbecue Highlights
Twenty members, spouses, guests, and prosepective members attended the summer barbecue and enjoyed hot dogs and hamburgs prepared by Grillmaster Nickell along with side dishes and desserts provided by the Club members. Six members submitted 11 recent turnings for Show and Tell.

John Marshall turned this 7" deep bowl from spalted maple.
Jerald Carter turned this 7" walnut hollow form in 2 sections.
Charlie Myers turned this elm goblet with 2 captive rings.
These 6" and 7" hollow bowls were turned by Joe Elmore.
Wayne Ailiff turned these 2 small natural edge bowls from holly.
Joe Elmore also turned this French style rolling pin form poplar.

The Club has partnered with the WV Fine Artisans Gallery and seven members are displaying their turnings at the Gallery. The Gallery is located at 315 W.
