The West Virginia Woodturners Association provides woodturners in southeastern West Virginia and western Virginia with an opportunity to meet other turners, enhance their skills, and share their skills and interests in woodturning. Anne Turner opened up her house to the Club for it's annual holiday banquet and showed her skill making pizzas to order. It was a very pleasant evening for everyone with great food and fellowship. We thank Anne for her generosity and hospitality!
Holiday Dinner Show and Tell
Seven members displayed a dozen of their turnings that they created during the year.
Cliff Baker turned this small bowl from an unknown species of very fragrant wood from California.
Mike Cope trned this small bowl from the root ball of a weeping pussy willow tree
Gary DeGraff created his 8" mesquite bowl.
Bruce Brenneman turned this 9" bowl with a natural edge from spruce.
Bruce also turned this deep natural edge bowl from yellow wood.
Mike Cope also used yellow wood for this thin, natural edge bowl.
Gary DeGraff incorporated the defects in the walnut log when he turned this 10" bowl .
George Boxwell created this small bowl and bottle stopper.
He also turned these four pens from a variety of materials.
Gary DeGraff turned this thin cherry bowl while the wood was green and distorted as it dried.
This 12" cherry burl bowl was turned by John Gregor.
Apple is one of Anne Turner's favorite woods and she used it for this 10" bowl.
