Can you tell me more about your monthly meetings?

We have monthly club meetings that are usually at Montwell Commons in Lewisburg, unless otherwise specified. They are on a Saturday, normally starting at 9:30 a.m.

At the meetings, you will find live demonstrations, club challenges, auctions for various items, and show and tell of member creations.

If you wish to attend a meeting and see what we are all about, please contact one of our members. We would be glad to have you visit!

What is Turning Tuesday in Lewisburg?

Turning Tuesday is where members gather at the woodturning studio in Lee Street Studios to turn, learn and share experiences. We meet from 3:00 p.m, to 5:00 p.m. and then go out to dinner at a local restaurant. There are always experienced woodturners there to guide those who need more experience.

Visitors are welcome to come and learn more about woodturning and see first hand some of the creations come to life. Please contact one of our members.

I have little to no experience with woodturning. Will this club be of value to me?

Absolutely, if you are interested in learning to turn, then this is the place! Our members consist of turners of all skill levels, from absolute beginners to very advanced turners. You will quickly find someone you can chat with to discuss possible new techniques or skills!

The club offers educational and skill building opportunities to all, no matter what level you are at. We also have the dedicated studio open for classes and training.

I'd like to see what the club is about before I join. Can I attend a meeting before joining?

Yes, please attend one of our meetings or come to one of the Turning Tuesdays experience the community, and to see the fun of creating something on a lathe.

I don't have any equipment, but want to try out turning. Does your club have a way to help me try this?

We do, there is a self contained turning center that has a number of lathes, tools, and associated equipment where we can run instructor led training sessions. This can be done with a group, as well as one on one sessions.

What is the Turning Schedule in Beckley?

Harmony Wood Arts meets on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of the month. Visitors are welcome to come and learn more about woodturning and see first hand some of the creations come to life. Lessons are provided for $35 for the first lesson, and $20 for each subsequent lesson. Your first lesson also includes membership to the WVWA and insurance while working in our studio.
